Doug is president and executive director of The Public Interest Network. His network tenure began in 1979, when he became executive director of MASSPIRG. Over the following decades, he conceived and organized Fund for the Public Interest, U.S. PIRG, National Environmental Law Center, Green Century Capital Management, Green Corps and Environment America, among other groups. Before he joined the network, Doug ran the public interest placement office at Harvard Law School and the Student Organizing Project at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Doug lives in Denver. He is a passionate Alpine skier and has dubious taste in Mexican food.
