PIRG Consumer Watchdog
For more than 40 years, we’ve been educating consumers about how to protect themselves and their rights. We work to get dangerous products off store shelves, to end exploitative practices and ensure a level playing field in the marketplace. Right now, our Watchdog team is focused on consumer threats from data breaches to dangerous toys.
Pledge to be Toxic-Free
We should be able to trust that the products we buy are safe — especially ones our families use every day, directly on our bodies. That’s why we’re calling on major personal care product companies to pledge to go toxic-free.
Save Our Antibiotics
Antibiotic resistant infections already make two million people sick and claim the lives of at least 23,000 Americans each year. Some experts are predicting that by 2050, these infections could kill more people worldwide than cancer kills today. We need to take immediate and decisive action to stop the overuse of antibiotics.
Stop the overuse of antibiotics on factory farms
At least 23,000 Americans die every year from antibiotic-resistant bacteria. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warns that the widespread overuse of antibiotics on factory farms is making them less effective. Without leadership from Washington, D.C., we need restaurant chains and state governments to take action to address this public health threat.
